Working At http://www.cancercenterlosangeles.com/ Is Not Easy On The Soul

I dont think I have to really say that working at such a place like http://www.cancercenterlosangeles.com/ is hard on the soul. Every day I see people come in who have either just been told that they have cancer, or are in the process of being treated for cancer. The faces are grim, the bodies a bit lank, and most of all, the attitudes are crestfallen. What else can be done except try to help them the best that I can? Thats part of my job. I have to smile and make them feel like theres hope still left in the world.

You see, I work as a receptionist, while also doing some other odd jobs. When you work as a receptionist at a place such as http://www.cancercenterlosangeles.com/ you are signed up for a world of depressing faces and thoughts. I dont know how many people deal with it so often. I am blessed that nobody in my family has ever had cancer, and definitely not me. Its a wonder that I can relate to the people coming in at all. But I smile, I welcome them, and I help them get where theyre going in the building. Its a little bit, but I like to think I help people get a bit farther in their treatment.

I have heard some really depressing words in my tenure there. Most of all, the people who come in often ask God why they have to be there, why they are suffering so much, and why their loved ones who are with them have to suffer too. Of course, no one ever answers. I doubt anyone ever will. All we know is that people have to deal with it the best way they know how, which is by holding hands and grinning and bearing it.

I will always be in awe of the fine doctors and nurses who work at http://www.cancercenterlosangeles.com/. Its because of them that so many people are able to leave our centers cancer free and in permanent remission. I just love that they are able to do so much for people. If I were to become a doctor, I would definitely go into the cancer field. After the people I have seen and met, I cant imagine doing anything else. Its a job that is not for the light hearted, but it is a job for those who are willing to help.
